The meaning of our Name

House of Still comes from the biblical reference of “peace be still.” In a world of pain and busyness, how do you and I really embrace Jesus’ command “Peace, be still!?” Peace is something we experience in our own hearts, not something dependent on our circumstances or achieved by others’ actions or inactions toward us. And stillness is a gift that we can experience if we would only embrace it. Yet, it’s so challenging to be still today.

We should embrace peace regardless of our circumstances and experience stillness instead of feeling guilty about our problems. It’s in the stillness and calm of our hearts that we begin to solve our problems.
